When creating a pricing, you may optionally specify a tax percentage to charge. The customer will be shown their Subtotal, Tax and Total on checkout when tax is enabled.

Do I need to charge tax?

This depends on your State or Country laws. Please talk to a tax expert in your State or Country.

How does Tax appear in reporting?

In PicThrive reports you will see a Tax Amount column. This is the amount of money shown to the customer as being paid towards taxes.

How does the PicThrive Commission work with Taxes?

The PicThrive commission of 20% is taken off of the Subtotal. A Credit Card processing fee (3-4%) is applied to Tax Amount.

Eg. Your photos cost $100, and has 10% tax. Your customer will pay $110 when purchasing online. You will retain $80 off the subtotal, and $9.70 from the tax, for a total of $89.70.

Does PicThrive submit tax on my behalf to my government?

PicThrive does not submit your collected tax. The full funds from the sale (minus any fees) is transfered to your account. You are responsible for submitting any taxes owed to your own government bodies.
