Enable CCAPI on your Canon Camera

  1. Make sure your camera is in the List of supported cameras
  2. Update your camera’s firmware.
    1. Eg. Canon Support
  3. Download the CCAPI Activation Tool as provided to you by PicThrive Support. We will need to know what Computer OS you are using.
  4. Plug your camera into your computer via USB, and turn on the camera
  5. Run the “Activation Tool”. It will popup and run a few instructions.
  6. Once completed, unplug the camera, and go to Wireless settings
  7. Go Wi-Fi settings sub menu
  8. Go to “Camera Control API”
  9. Go to “Add with wizard”
  10. Connect to the wifi network of your choice
  11. Write down the URL it shows
    1. Eg. http://192.168.137.40:8080/ccapi
  12. Put that into PicThrive Instant
  13. Once put into PicThrive the camera will show an new menu optoin
  14. Select “Confirm Set.”
  15. Return to the main menu on the camera
  16. Go to “Camera Control API” settings again
  17. Set “Auto connect” to “Enabled”. This will make the camera automatically rejoin the wifi whenever it is turned on.
