The PicThrive TV Slideshow app can be used with PicThrive Instant and Local Mode to display your albums automatically on the TVs in your retail store.

To use the TV Slideshow app with PicThrive Instant you must add in your IP address in the settings.

PicThrive Instant Local Mode Settings

  1. On a computer, go to your PicThrive Workspace (browser only).
  2. Click on "TV" on the left-hand-side
  3. On the TV you added, select the 3 dot menu on the right hand side
  4. Select Settings
  5. Under PicThrive Instant Local Mode, enter your IP Address
    1. If you don't know your IP address follow these instructions, Find My IP
  6. Click Save

Current Limitations:

  1. PicThrive Instant does not have the ability to manage the TV Slideshow app
  2. All settings must be changed in the browser version

General Troubleshooting

Oops- Failed to Connect to PicThrive Instant
  1. Ensure that PicThrive Instant is installed and open. If it is not, please install and open
    1. PicThrive Instant is required to be open at all times you are using Local Mode and the TV Slideshow App
  2. Check that your IP address is correct using this process if you have not already done so and go back to Step 1 PicThrive Instant Local Mode Settings
  3. If you are running windows as your photo computer. We want to ensure that the firewall is properly open on the computer.
    On the start menu, search for "Windows Defender Firewall with Advanced Security" and open it
  4. In the window that appears there are 3 "panes". In the center pane if it says something like "Your firewall is managed by a 3rd party application" then see the sub steps below. If not, continue to Step "5"
    1. You are using a 3rd party firewall like McAfee or Norton. We do not provide instructions for these. In general, we recommend uninstalling those programs and using Microsoft's built in tools (Windows Defender). The steps below will talk about how to manage the settings in Windows Defender after you have removed the 3rd party firewall
    2. Select "Inbound Rules" on the left-hand side pane
    3. Look in the list for "index.exe", "ssdp.exe" and "ssdp-client.exe".
      1. Each should have 2 or more entries
      2. For each entry double click on the entry, a dialog box should appear
    4. Ensure the "Allow connection" checkbox is selected or select the "Allow connection" checkbox
    5. Select the "Advanced tab"
    6. Ensure "Domain", "Private" and "Public" are all selected
    7. Click "OK"
    8. Repeat Steps a-g for each entry in Step c
  5. In the window that appears there are 3 "panes". In the center pane if it says something like "You do not have the correct permissions to open" please contact your System Administrator to complete Steps 4 b-h. If not, continue to Step "6"
  6. Return to the TV Slideshow App, Close and relaunch the app
