Automatic SD Card Uploading / New Drive Detection

PicThrive Instant is capable of automatically detecting when SD Cards or USB drives are added to your computer. You can set PicThrive Instant to automatically start uploading the contents, prompt you each time, or ignore when new SD Cards are added.

You may also be interested in having a copy of the SD Card contents automatically copied to a folder on your computer. See: Make Copies to Local Computer.

To get started with Automatic SD Card Uploading, first load up PicThrive Instant and make sure you have the latest version. Then plug in an SD Card or USB Drive that contains photos or videos.

By default, PicThrive Instant will prompt you about the SD Card:

Use the side scroll to preview the contents of your SD Card.

Once you are happy with the contents, click "Copy All to New Album". PicThrive Instant will create a new album and copy all the contents into it. Be sure to wait until the "blue copy bar" on the album has disappeared before safely ejecting the SD Card. The album will automatically take the name of the SD Card.

Automatic SD Card Uploading also supports detection of QR Codes. You can use this to easily name, or separate albums contents on a single SD Card. Check out Automatic QR Code Album Creation for more info.

PicThrive Instant expects SD Cards to contain the "DCIM" folder that is automatically created by cameras. If this folder is not found PicThrive Instant will ignore the drive.
