Email Templates are custom emails you can configure to send to guests!

Managing Email Templates

Note: You must have permissions to Manage Stores in order to create and manage Email Templates.

To view and manage your Email Templates:

  1. Go to your store settings by clicking on the Stores tab
  2. Click the edit (pencil) for your store
  3. Click on the "Emails" tab
Create new Template

To create a new Email Template, click on the "New Email Template" button at the top. Alternatively, you can click on "Get Started" for the type of email you wish to create a template for.

Email Templates are saved per email type: Purchase, Link to Buy Online, Gift Card, and Discarded Pending Purchase. When creating your Email Template, make sure to select which type of email it is for with the dropdown at the top. You will also have to set a name for the template as well as the header and main content you wish to customize. To get an idea of what an email could look like with the template, you can click on the "Preview" button at the bottom. When you're ready, click the "Save" button at the bottom to save your Email Template.

Merge Tags

Merge tags can be used in Email Templates to insert unique data into emails. For example, you can insert the "Guest Name" merge tag in the email that will replace the merge tag with the name of the guest when the email is sent.

To insert a merge tag, edit or create an Email Template and click the "Insert Merge Tag" button. This will present you with various options for which merge tag to use. Select which one you'd like, and the merge tag will be inserted into the custom email!

Settings

To see your settings for Email Templates, click on the "Settings" button at the top of the Email Templates page. Here you can change the background color for your Email Templates, and you can change the default values for your Merge Tags.

Managing Templates

When viewing all of your Email Templates, you will see the name and a short preview for each. There are also various icons that you can click for the template:

From left to right:

  • Preview: See a preview of what an email could look like with the Email Template.
  • Delete: Delete your Email Template.
  • Set as the Default Template: This will automatically default to use this Email Template when sending an email for its type.
  • Edit: Modify your Email Template.

Using Email Templates

When sending an album, you have the option to choose which Email Template to use. By default, your default Email Template for the email type will be selected. If you don't have any Email Templates or if you don't want to use a custom Email Template, you can select the "PicThrive Standard Email" option. This will send the pre-defined standard email that PicThrive uses.

To see a quick preview of the selected Email Template, you can hover your cursor over the info icon beside the selected Email Template.
