The first time you open PicThrive Instant you will be prompted to login. Follow the login prompt, and select the "Stores" you want this computer to be able to access.

After logging in, you will be prompted to configure the computer. You will see 3 options:

  • Uploading for Kiosks using Local Mode.
  • Uploading and regular use.
  • Approve pending purchases from another computer.

Two of the options are dependent on your use of a feature called "Local Mode". Local Mode allows tablets to view photos/videos before they have uploaded to the cloud. This is useful for slow or spotty internet connections, or when the time to upload is too long.

How to decide, questionnaire

If you are looking to decide, which setting to use, our guide below will help:

  • Are you using Tablet's?
    • Yes
      • Will the Tablets be using Local Mode and need to "talk" to your uploading computer? This is recommend when you either have slow internet, or not enough time for photos to upload before guests need to view them on the tablets
        • Yes
          • Set one computer up with "Uploading for Kiosks using Local Mode." This will be the computer you do all your uploading with. It will also be the computer that your Tablets will talk to. We will call it the "Primary Install"
          • Set any additional computer you want to use with "Approve pending purchases from another computer." Do not upload from those computers. We recommend using these computers at the front desk so staff can take payment and "approve" any purchases, releasing them to the guests. We will call these computers a "Secondary Install".
        • No. My internet is fast enough to upload with and I will not be using Local Mode.
          • Select "Uploading and regular use."
    • No. I am not using tablets
      • Select "Uploading and regular use."
