How much free storage do I get?

With PicThrive you get unlimited storage and uploads for any new content. We hold onto your content for 3 years at no additional cost to you or your customers. After the content has aged three years, you can choose to keep (see Storage Plans) or choose to have it deleted.

How much does additional storage cost?

Pricing is $0.14/GB/year.

For example, if you have 1TB of data that is not covered by the free years, you will be charged a total of $140 for the year.

How do I update my plan?

You can change your plan by logging into your workspace, then:

  1. Click "Admin" on the left hand side
  2. Scroll to "Content Storage Usage & Expiry"
  3. Click the blue link "Change Plan"
  4. Select how many additional years of storage you wish to retain.

When am I charged for storage?

Only if you choose to store content that’s older than 3 years is there a fee. If you have elected to have no Storage Plan you will not be charged.

If you choose to keep content past 3 years, we will calculate how much content is held in your account. We will issue you a charge on your invoice for the additional content being kept. This is done on a monthly basis.

What happens to guest purchases?

Guests are told they get at least 1 year free storage giving them plenty of time to save and share their purchase. However, guests get the same storage time as you. When a guest makes a purchase we will retain that content for 3 years past their purchase date at no additional cost to you or them.

If you do choose to use a Storage Plan then a guest’s purchase will be extended by the same amount. For example, if you add 1 additional year of Storage, a guest’s purchase will now exist for 4 years instead of 3.

Once the free storage period has expired for a purchase we will alert the guest. They will receive one automated email 30 days before their content is removed. It will list all their purchases that are about to expire and provide instructions on how to download them. After 30 days of the email being sent, their purchase will be deleted.

When does the deletion happen?

Once a year we will check all accounts to see what content can be deleted and what content has been paid for. This process will repeat every year starting at the beginning of January. We will also alert any guests that have their purchases about to expire. See “What happens to guest purchases” above. In addition to alerting your guests, we will also generate a CSV report for you listing all purchases that are about to expire.

After the 30 day grace period, the guests orders will be deleted. We will then delete any content in your account not covered by a Storage Plan.

This process repeats every year.

How do you calculate total size?

To calculate the total size of content you have uploaded, we look at each unique media item added to PicThrive. We only look at the original content. We will then group media into year age categories based on its upload or last use date. The file size in bytes is then added together to get totals for each rolling year. See “How are years calculated” for more info on the categories.

Any media that you have deleted is not counted towards your total.

What happens to Souvenir Photos?

Souvenir photos will not be deleted, even if they pass the free storage period.
