How to setup Google Analytics

You can use Google Analytics to track views on your Store and Guest Galleries. It can also track usage on the Store, so you can see how people add items to their carts and checkout.

If you don't want to use Google Analytics, you can still track on your Guest Gallery views. The Sales & Marketing Analytics page contains reports on which galleries get share the most, and total views over days.

Setup

To get more metrics you can add in Google Analytics to your Store. Your GA code will get added to both your Online Store and your Guest Galleries.

To add in Google Analytics:

  1. Go to Google Analytics to retrieve your "Measurement Id"
    1. Select "Admin" on the bottom left
    2. Navigate to the account and property you want to track. You may want to create a New Property just for PicThrive
    3. Once you have a property created, click on "Data Streams"
    4. Click on the main web stream. Its probably the only one there.
    5. In the window that appears, copy the "Measurement ID". It should be similar to "G-XXXXXXXXX" where "X" is replaced with your unique code.
    6. Copy this code.
  2. Navigate to your Store inside PicThrive
  3. Scroll down to Remarketing & Analytics.
  4. Paste this code into the "Google Analytics" section.
    1. Note: You may see an old tracking code in there that looks like "UA-XXXXXXX-XX". This is Google Analytics V3. You should remove it and put in your new "G-XXX" code for Google Analytics V4.

Online Store Events

Google Analytics will report the following events for the Online Store, in addition to regular page views and engagements:

  • view_cart
  • begin_checkout
  • purchase
  • add_to_cart
  • remove_from_cart
