PicThrive Instant Specific Settings

The follow are settings found only on PicThrive Instant in the "Settings Tab".

Instant Mode

This setting decides which "mode" PicThrive Instant should function in. The two options are "Primary Install" and "Secondary Install".

In general, you should only have 1 computer set as "Primary Install" when using tablets. This should be the only computer you upload with. Any additional computers on the network should be set to "Secondary Install".

If you are not using tablets, setting all of your computers to "Primary Install" is a valid option.

Secondary Install Options

If you select "Secondary Install" more options will appear. By default "Auto Search" is enabled to find the "Primary Install". The computer will scan the network attempting to find your main uploading computer. If you toggle this off, you can manually input an IPv4 address for it to connect to.

Instant Mode Resizers

These resizers are used to help display images onto the Tablets when using Local Mode. We recommend setting this to Level 2. This is required to be set to at least 1 when using Local Mode.

If you are not using tablets, it is okay to set this to "0".

Computer Sleep Options

There are 3 modes PicThrive supports to prevent your computer from going to sleep

  • Allow computer to sleep.
    • Recommended for "Secondary Installs"
  • Wait for uploads to finish.
    • Recommend for "Primary Installs" when not using Tablets.
  • Prevent the computer from sleeping.
    • Recommend for "Primary Installs" when using Tablets & Local Mode.
    • Remember to restart your computer occasionally, it is healthy for it!

Disk Space

PicThrive Instant will cache files as it uploads them. It will automatically delete that cache every few days. However, on some computers you might run low on disk space. Use the clear cache here to delete our cache.

Clearing cache may interfere with any connected tablets. We recommend only using this if you absolutely need to and at the end of the day once uploads have finished uploading completely.
