PicThrive Instant Installation
Installation
The latest version is as follows:
- Windows
- Windows 10 or later. 64-bit Only. (Microsoft does not support earlier versions)
- Mac
- Mac OS 10.15 or later, 64-bit or M series Only
- Chromebook (Not Applicable) Please use the web login here
After Installation
- After installing, please check our guide for First Setup

Install Steps
Windows Steps
- Download the and run the Installer.
- If it pops up with windows "Smart Screen", click "More" to approve the install.
- Click 'NEXT' on everything. DO NOT CHANGE any installation paths
- On Windows a black window with a blinking white line will appear. This is normal. It is attempting to download extra files. Please wait and be patient with it.
- During the installation multiple smaller installations will fire off. This is normal.
- After the install is completed the App will open.
- Login an grant access to the Stores you want to be accessible from this workstation.
- You will then be prompted with your First Setup dialog. For help with that check out: First Setup
Mac Steps
- Download and run the installer.
- Note: if you encounter an error like "Can't be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software" please see Troubleshooting steps below.
- Click 'NEXT' on everything. DO NOT CHANGE any installation paths
- A dialog will appear showing the PicThrive Logo, and Arrow to the right, and a folder
- Drag and drop the PicThrive Logo into the folder on the right
- Wait until the "copy" / "move" progress info disappears. Then close the "Drag&Drop" dialog.
- Wait until the main installer progress is done.
- Once everything is done...
- Open Finder -> Click on Applications on the left
- Click on PicThrive Instant.app
- On the Dock, right click the PicThrive logo. Go to options. Click "Keep in Dock".
- Login an grant access to the Stores you want to be accessible from this workstation.
- You will then be prompted with your First Setup dialog. For help with that check out: First Setup
Troubleshooting the install
Its asking me to overwrite files
Click yes until the warning disappears. Alternatively hold the 'y' key down until the warning disappears.
What is graphics magick?
It is what we use for image processing
When they open the app for the first time it shows the workspace and just spins
Please contact us! Chances are the install or a past install failed and has corrupted the application.
Can't be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software
Apple shows this error if the app was not distributed through their App Store. To get around this error message please try the following steps:
- Right Click on the installer and select "Open".
- The same error message will display, HOWEVER, a new option of "Open Anyway" will appear.
- Click that option.
- If the error is not resolved, try go to "System Preferences -> General -> Open Anyway"
